And The 'Booby' Prize Goes To.....

Pam Janecek is the winner of our decorated bra contest for our Scrap Pink Crops held this past weekend! Congratulations!

When we called her up to give her the news, she was so excited and she couldn't get off the phone fast enough to share the news with her friend and husband.

Pam entered this bra in memory of her dear friend who passed away from breast cancer. They became good friends right around the time that she was diagnosed and Pam was her support through her battle. She told us she was a true angel.

When Pam came into the store to pick up her bra and gift basket, she brought along a photo of her friend to share with us.

Hopefully the donations that were made from this past weekend will make the difference and end breast cancer forever.

Decorated Bras for Scrap Pink!

We sent out the challenge and our scrapbook friends responded. We knew they would be amazing and they really are! Here is a little peek:

This is an entry from a nursing mother of twins! She calls herself a milking machine and her idea came to her at 2am.

This was designed with a beautiful butterfly theme!

This entry was themed around hope and love. Beautiful detail on the straps!

This entry is from one of our scrapbook friends who is a breast cancer survivor and her bra is decorated with a message thanking everyone for supporting this great cause!

This entry was submitted in memory of Irene Lomax!

This is the Two Scrapbook Friends team entry! It is a breast cancer awareness bra!

This entry comes with directions....to 'squeeze regularly'!

This bra was designed by Karan and she was assisted by her sister Terry. It is entitled 'flower fusion'!

We encourage you to come into the store and see these amazing creations in person and cast your vote for your favourite!

Have you checked out the layout gallery?

Some of our scrapbook friends have been uploading some of their layouts and projects. Take a moment and visit our layout gallery on the website. Here are some samples to entice you.

New Prima Flowers!

These new Prima flower collections are so very cool! We have them scattered around the store and they are going fast. Be sure to stop in and pick one (or two) up for your collection.

Scrapbook & Cards Has Arrived!

It is here! It is full to the brim with inspiring layouts, beautiful fall cards, fantastic new projects, innovative techniques, and the latest and greatest products to help you celebrate the season.

It is free, but only 1 copy per customer.

New Kits!

Yes, it is true. We do have new kits available. They will be available tomorrow morning at 10am. They are available in limited quantities so don't wait too long.

In honour of our Scrap Pink Crops this weekend we have created this beautiful layout called Hope using the Breast Cancer papers from Melissa Frances.

Our second kit is also from the Melissa Frances and it is called Inspire! It contains beautiful chipboard accents and glitter stickers.

This is a kit that we had for a class that sold out very quickly. We were able to get more product in and re-make it. It is on shelves now, but when they are gone, they are gone!

This is also a re-run kit. Although summer is officially over, we still have piles of unscrapbooked photos. Be sure to pick this one up before is disappears, just like summer did.

Our Waterpark kit was supposed to be a Kit of the Week, but it was a Kit of the Day. It is now back in stock!

American Crafts Cardstock Bundles

A new arrival at our store are the new Cardstock Bundles from American Crafts. They are available in many different colour collections and we have them all! Each pack is full of wonderful, rich colours in beautiful textures you just can't resist!

The best part....it works out to only 45 cents a sheet! You can't beat that.

September Key Tag Event Days!

Our September Key Tag Event Days are only 3 days away! This month we decided to combine them with our Scrap Pink Crops!

For 2 full days, Friday and Saturday, September 26th (10am-10pm) and 27th (10am-5pm), you can receive 20% off anything pink in our store!* Just stop by with your Two Scrapbook Friends Key Tag (or buy one for only $1 the day of the sale) and you will receive 20% off anything pink!

Plus, Key Tag holders that purchase $25 or more in products will receive a FREE pink Scrapbook Adhesive of their choice (tape runner, tab runner, foam adhesive or box of tabs) at checkout!

Some of you may be thinking of the obvious things like pink cardstock, pink paper, pink ribbon, pink brads, pink buttons, and pink stickers....but don't stop there! Joanne, Janet and I were walking around the store and we were amazed by how many things would qualify for the sale because of the packaging! So we challenge you to come in and see how many 'pink' items you can get a 20% discount on!

*Does not apply to classes, crops, Two Scrapbook Friends kits, Cricut or Cuttlebug products.

Join In The Challenge!

Joanne went out to Zellers this week and purchased a sale bra for $7.00. The Two Scrapbook Friends team (Joanne) have been busy transforming it and it will be on display at the store on Friday and Saturday during our Scrap Pink Crops!

We are putting out a fun challenge to all our customers to decorate their own bra (well, maybe not one you wear regularly) and enter it to be judged by our customers. You could win a beautiful pink gift bag filled with tonnes of goodies!

This is a chance for all our scrapbook friends to get involved whether you are attending the crop or not. Take your creativity to a new level and decorate a bra in honour of Scrap Pink! It can be an individual or group effort.

Your bra must be entered by 5pm on Thursday, September 25th. All bras will be on display over the weekend and our customers will be able to vote for their favourite. So get silly, get serious, get crafty, get decorating and you could win a fabulous gift bag containing all things pink!

What Has Karan Been Up To?

Karan has been very busy designing amazing layout for us. Here are a few 'sneak peeks' for you! I know it is just a teaser, but we can't give everything away.

The first image is from a 'We Are Family' layout! It is using the new papers from Studio 8 and has a paper pieced element that will knock your socks off!

The next image is from a layout called 'Don't Open 'Til Christmas' and it has a present filled sleigh that includes some glitter accents.

Our final detail shot is from a winter themed page with chipboard snowflakes and 3D trees.

Watch your emails and check the blog often for updates on Karan's progess. She is always busy working on something.

Kit of the Week

Due to many requests and a very high demand for 'school' related kits, we decided to run another school themed kit of the week!

The title on this layout is made of grid pattern paper that is stapled to cardstock with die-cut letters added. It also has the grid pattern paper for the journal box too.

The tabs on the second page resemble 'file folder' tabs and they have been tagged with school subject names.

The best part is the paper-pieced school bus that embellishes page 1!

This kit is available in limited quantities, and the background colour varies. All cardstock has been coordinated and will not affect the overall look of your pages. Trust us, you will love it.

Cute Project For Halloween

Earlier in the week I talked about a fold out project sheet from the Frightful line from My Little Yellow Bicycle. Here are a couple of images of the sample that we have in the store.

The project sheet comes with the base and all the die-cuts you will need. All you need to add is the cardstock for photo mats and some ribbon.

The finished size (all folded up) is about 4 1/2 x 6 1/2 and it sells for only $3.75

Janet made up a sample for the store and we have been showcasing it on our front counter. It is getting a lot of attention and they are selling fast.

Stop by and check it out in person! You won't be disappointed.

A Few Changes....

We have been doing a little reorganizing around the store and we thought we would also do some organizing in the crop area as well.

We love having our scrapbook friends come and join us for classes and crops, so we thought.....'hmmm, how can we make them more comfortable.'

We have now added the Making Memories desktop carousel filled with all the basic items you may need. If you forget something you are welcome to use ours. After all, what are friends for.

In addition to having the carousels, we added a 'cooshie for your tooshie' to each chair! All week we have had our friends come into the crop room just to sit on them and check them out.

Be sure to stop by soon and see the added 'perks', or better yet, sign up for a class or crop and use the first hand!

Will It Ever Stop?

Oh my gosh? Will it ever stop. The mountain of boxes at our store this week is unlike anything we have ever had before! Unlike these boxes, ours are full of goodies!

Yesterday we had 5 different shipments arrive from 5 different couriers! It is like Christmas around here!

There are lots of new product lines in the store already. Be sure to pop by and check them out!

My Little Yellow Bicycle-Frightful!

Check out all this great product from My Little Yellow Bicycle! The lace-cut cardstock is really cool! If you are doing Halloween layouts you have to get it! Felt shapes, googly eyes, and clear die-cut shapes are also a 'must have'. They also have an amazing project sheet to create a mini fold-up album. They were flying off the shelf at the crop last night and they are only $3.75! I will try and get a photo of the finished project and upload it for you to view!

Fun Was Had By All!

Last night we held another Pizza Crop and fun was had by all! Karan Gerber joined us for her first crop and she was welcomed with excitement. It wasn't too long before she was showing her new friends some quick tips and cool techniques.

While creating a couple beautiful fall layouts (coming soon to a store near you) she pulled out the Edge Scraper from Making Memories and started distressing the edges of the new Double Dot papers from Bo Bunny!
Before too long the Edge Scraper was being passed around the table and everyone was giving it a try! This simple, easy technique created quite a stir. The layout turned out AMAZING and many Edge Scrapers were ordered!

We hope you can join us for a Pizza Crop soon. I think Karan's next crop is going to be October 10th......there is still space available!

The crop is sold out, but you could always just 'happen to stop by' and see what is going on. We are open until 11pm! Try to escape.....it will be worth it!

You are invited to join Two Scrapbook Friends for our Scrap Pink Crop Events to be held on Friday, September 26th and Saturday, September 27th!

You can attend one or both crops and be a part of our fundraising efforts to help put an end to breast cancer.

On Friday, September 26, we are hosting a 12-hour Scrap Pink Crop from 10am to 10pm. Our crop will include a goodie bag, dinner, snacks, games (we promise there will be no 'booby' prizes) and a special guest speaker. We are asking all our croppers to dress in pink for this special crop. The more creative the better!

On Saturday, September 27, we will be running our second Scrap Pink Crop from 10am - 5pm! This crop is sold out! Our lucky participants will receive a goodie bag, lunch, snacks, games and a guest speaker. Please wear pink, the more creative the better, and plan on having the 'breast' time ever!

Your bra has to be entered by 5pm, Thursday, September 25th. All bras will be on display over the weekend and our customers will be able to vote for their favourite. So, get silly, get serious, get crafty, get decorating and you could win a fabulous gift basket containing all things pink!

Thank you for joining us in the effort to find a cure for breast cancer. Many of our own Scrapbook Friends have been personally touched by this disease and we are committed to doing our part to help end breast cancer forever.

Karan Gerber........a true scrapbook friend!

Although Joanne and I are neighbours, our friendship really bloomed through scrapbooking. We are so lucky to have each other as friends, but we are truly blessed by many other great scrapbook friends we have met along our journey!

Karan Gerber is one of those people. She is a great addition to the team at Two Scrapbook Friends. She has been doing some design work for us, but we are going to be stepping things up around the store and she will play a big part in that!

Stay tuned for updates and look for her friendly face appearing a little more often around the store! You will love getting to know her......we did!

Rainy Day

I woke up this morning to the pitter-patter of rain drops on my bedroom window. The first thing that popped into my head was......what a great day to scrapbook!

I am going to run around the house this morning and get my 'jobs' done and then I am going to dedicate the afternoon to scrapbooking.

I think you should do the same.

Daisy Has Arrived!

It has arrived.....it is in the city! Some assembly was required....okay, more than some assembly! Thanks to Wayne (Joanne's husband) she is all put together and polished up.

Joanne and I took her out for a test drive tonight and she rides like a dream. I think Joanne was a little embarrassed riding next to me as I cruised along from street to street around our neighbourhood. I always wanted a car that would turn heads as I drove by.....but I guess I will have to settle for a bike that will turn heads (even if it is for a different reason)!

Until we create a home for 'Daisy' in our store I think we will continue to ride around the neighbourhood and show her off. We will keep you posted on the progress of finding the perfect spot....suggestions are welcome.

New Class at Two Scrapbook Friends

The Share & Tell Album Program offers simple ways to organize your photos and display them beautifully! Let’s face it...we are all busy. Whatever stage in life we find ourselves in, time seems to limit us from all that we want or need to do. This program was created as an answer to today’s busy life! A simple system that is easy to maintain and will provide us with more time to spend with loved ones creating memories! Isn’t this what life is all about? This is the story of your life together and as you share it, relationships will be strengthened and memories will be preserved. In this age of digital photography it is so important to print out your favorite photos for safe keeping and enjoyment.

The beauty of the Share & Tell program is that you can decide how much or little scrapbooking you want to do. The album is a D-ring style and it comes with either 12 x 12 pocket protectors or 4x6 pocket protectors and both styles can be mixed and matched throughout your album.

Join us on Friday, September 19th at 6:30pm and learn what this concept is all about. We will be creating the layout below which will include a 12 x 12 pocket protector as well as the 4x6 pocket protector. We will show you how to incorporate these into your albums and how easy it will be! The cost of the class is $20 and you need to bring your basic supplies, along with a brown ink pad, glue dots and foam adhesive.

We Have A Winner!

Congratulations to Janice Collins! She is the winner of the $50 gift certificate that was up for grabs during our August Key Tag Event! Janice put her ticket into the bucket for the yellow knapsack and her name was drawn!

I am sure she will find a few thing in the store to add to her collection of scrapbook goodies!

Watch your emails for the next Key Tag Event!

First Day of School!

They are off! The first day of school has arrived and the kids in my house were very excited to be back in school.

I had my camera out and still managed to get photos of all three of my kids! Jason (my middle son) was not too impressed, but he co-operated.

With the kids back in school, hopefully it will free up a little time for you. September is a month where routines and structure fall back in place. Be sure to include a little scrapbook time in your schedule....a class, crop time or even some shopping time. We hope to see you in the store soon!

This weeks Kit of the Week is 'First Day of School'. We used the new Scenic Route papers and stickers to create this double-page layout for your albums. This line of papers and embellishments has been in our store, but has almost completely sold out. Be sure to pick up your kit early!

For Your Entertainment!

For your entertainment, I thought I would upload a few photos from our summer holiday at the cottage we rented on Six Mile Lake! It was located on an island, so you are surrounded by water. The view was amazing and really hard to leave behind.

Our new toy this summer has been the boat that my husband fixed up. We have been enjoying some watersports at Conestoga Lake for most of the summer. Until our holiday at the cottage, I have managed to stay in the boat as a spotter.....but that ended when we spent the week on the lake!

My kids thought that I should try wake boarding! They laughed when they challenged me to try to get up on the board. Amanda (my oldest) and Matt (my youngest) thought there was 'no way' I was ever going to get out of the water. Jason (my middle child) had great confidence in me (not sure where that came from) and predicted that I would get up on my third try.

My first attempts were unsuccessful and the ski rope just flew out of my hands when the boat took off! Jason instructed me and told me to hang on tight (great advice), and sure enough on my third try I was up! You can tell by the look on my face that I was in shock. Now that I was up......what the heck was I supposed to do! I didn't upload many of the photos that followed, as they were not pretty!

After my very short run, Jason went out and said that he would show me how it was done! As you can see.....I need more practice.

We also have 2 tubes that we tow around behind the boat. We usually only do one at at time but at the cottage we purchased a second rope and then we could 'double' tube! You know what that means.....there is room for mom too! I was a good sport and jumped on with the kids. I bounced around over the waves as my loving husband tried to 'dump' me!

I know for my kids, I have created some memories that will last them a lifetime. We took over 700 photos for me to add to their scrapbooks. Some of them will only be viewed on the computer and will never hit their books (if you know what I mean)!

The final photo I uploaded is of one of the many sunsets that we enjoyed sitting on the dock by the water after a long day playing on the boat! It was a great way for me to rest my stiff muscles and unwind from a busy day. Unfortunately Amanda was visiting a friend and her family the night we took these photos. We missed her!
