Altered Gift Bags
There are so many occasions where a cute little gift bag is just what you need to hold a gift for someone special. There are birthdays, anniversaries, new babies, Halloween, Christmas, Easter, Valentines Day... and the list goes on! For your next special gift, why not try making your own gift bag?

What You Will Need
Gift containers can be made using any number of things. You can recycle an old gift bag, use a plain bag with handles, a box, an acrylic pail or even a clean, unused paint can (these can be bought at any hardware/paint store).
You will then need to gather some of your scrapbooking supplies, such as paper, ribbons, buttons, brads, gems, Glossy Accents, Stickles, or stamps. The items you can use is truly endless and is only limited by your imagination.
Have Fun!
For my Halloween themed gift holder, I used an acrylic pail. These nice, lightweight containers come in three different sizes and they are sold at Two Scrapbook Friends.
You will have to decide if you want to cover the entire pail or just one side. I chose to decorate just the front, so all the goodies would show through from the back. Measure the area you want to decorate and cut a background piece.
To attach your paper to your pail (or bag, box or paint can), I found that the best adhesive to use is Therm O Web's Double-Sided Tape.
It is very strong and will hold your paper really well, even on a curved surface.
Just unroll and apply the sticky side onto the back of your paper. Cut the length you need and then peel away the red top-liner to reveal the clear adhesive.
You can then apply your paper to your item with the security of knowing it will stay in place. Once your background paper is on your container, decorate it any way you like!
I used a die-cut sheet from My Minds Eye and foam adhesive to give dimension to the items. I added Glossy Accents to the spiders and leaves on the tree, Stickles to the dots above the spiders and put some buttons on for fun.
Then I added a couple of tags I made along with some ribbons. Now, I just have to put some candy in it and decide who I will give it to!
Why not give this fun project a try? It is really easy and is sure to put a smile on someone's face!
