Gift giving season is quickly approaching so I thought I would show you how to make a gift card holder. You can use this for any occasion, but if you get started early you will be set for all the Christmas gift cards you will need to give!
To begin, cut a piece of cardstock that measures 4 1/4 x 11 1/2 inches. This will be the base of your cardholder, so choose your colour accordingly.

Next, you will score your cardstock at 3 inches, 5 1/2 inches and 8 inches, starting from the right edge of your paper.

Fold your cardstock on all the score lines so that it looks like the image below.

Apply adhesive on 3 sides of the section shown below. I used the 1/8 inch Terrifically Tacky Tape. It is extra sticky and I know that it will hold and my gift card holder will not pop open.

Once you have the tape on the 3 sides, sandwich them together.

On the folded edge, take a border punch and create the opening that your gift card will slide into.

You will not punch out the entire edge. Leave a 1/4 inch piece at either end of the edge, as shown in the photo.

With a sharp pair of scissors, cut off the small straight strip.

This will allow your gift card to slide into the pocket that has been created.

Out of pattern paper, cut a strip that measures 1 x 7 1/2 inches.

Wrap this around the folded gift card holder and fasten the ends of the strip together using the Terrifically Tacky Tape or your desired adhesive. This holds the holder closed.

Cut or punch 2 circles (one slightly smaller than the other) in contrasting colours.

Stamp your desired image on the smaller circle and then layer it on top of the larger circle. You can use any shape for this step....squares, ovals, etc. Adhere this to the front of the band and slip it over your gift card holder.

I added a bit of red Stickles to decorate the gift in the middle of my tag.

This is a really quick and easy project. We have lots of Christmas stamps and Christmas papers in stock at the store. Stop by and pick up your supplies and get started on your holiday crafting.
