Acrylic Letters and Shapes I remember how I excited I was when I first set my eyes on the acrylic letters, punctuation and shapes from Heidi Swapp! I just had to have them ALL! That was a long time ago and since then many other manufacturers have followed the trend, Maya Road (Sheers) and Bo Bunny to name a few.
I like how versatile they are and now they are not only available in the 'original' clear, but they come in colour as well. Personally, I prefer the clear ones because they offer endless possibilities for your projects. Paint, ink (distress, Adirondack alcohol inks, pens), glimmer mist, and glitter are just some of the mediums I use on my clear acrylic letters/shapes to 'dress them up' a bit. If you are looking for another look ~ add some Glossy Accents once your paint etc. has dried!
Mix and match styles/fonts and colours for an added effect. Use brads, staples, eyelets, pop dots, glue dots to adhere them to your projects.
This is a layout I created using some Heidi Swapp and Maya Road Products. I painted some of the letters using Making Memories Paint and then outlined with a white Ink Essentials Pen by Tim Holtz. Others I just left 'natural black' and outlined them in white.
Tip: Use your personal die cut machines and some transparency sheets to make your own 'sheer' letters/shapes!
I can't wait to see your projects in the Two Scrapbook Friends Gallery using this technique!
Two Scrapbook Friends note: We currently have the BoBunny Acrylic Alphas and Arrows and Circles in stock. Stop in soon to try out these fun techniques! Thanks for a great tutorial Patti!
